Sun Run InTraining Clinics start January 19, 2008

Whether you want to get better in shape, be inspired, or just plain add something great to your life in 2008, then running or walking in The Vancouver Sun Run can help you meet your goal and a Sun Run InTraining clinic is the start. The 13-week guided clinics start January 19 at 75-plus centres in the Lower Mainland and beyond. Last day to register is February 2. Programs are available for walkers (Walk10K), novice (LearnToRun10K) and more experienced runners (Run10KFaster).

This highly successful InTraining program intersperses walking with jogging or running in order to safely and gradually improve your fitness ability. Coordinators at each centre are experienced health and fitness professionals, and work with a team of enthusiastic SportMedBC trained volunteers. Each session offers expert training plus professional advice on shoes, running gear, nutrition, tips for injury prevention, and camaraderie.

The $129 (plus GST) clinic fee includes 13-weekly guided training sessions with trained leaders, a New Balance Lightning Dry Tempo Tee, Sun Run InTraining Log Book, Sun Run 2008 entry and an event souvenir T-shirt, plus an exclusive gift (valued at $70) with purchase at Alliance Athletics Stores, expert advice, coaching tips and motivational support as well as online technical support and information.

The Vancouver Sun Run was proud to be the first Canadian road race to include Nordic Walking. Now in its second year and in association with SportMedBC and Exel, Sun Run InTraining will be holding 11 Nordic Walking clinics.
