Around The Lake Give’R Take 30 is a 30km trail race around Beautiful Cultus Lake, Chilliwack, B.C. Racers can register as a solo runner or a two-person relay team. The race takes place on Saturday 18th Oct 2008

Race Information for 2008 Season:

Date: Saturday October 18, 2007 – 9am start Main Beach, Cultus Lake

Fees: 30Km individual run:
Before September 1st = $60
On/after September 1st = $70

Relay option:
Before September 1st = $100
On/after September 1st = $120

Terrain: A 30km race primarily on forested trails around beautiful Cultus Lake, starting and ending at Main Beach. A 2km loop on road and beach trail will thin out the crowd and lead you back past the start area and then quickly up the first serious climb on single track trails to the high point of the race at about 1450 ft. A gradual descent on an old logging road brings you into Columbia Valley beyond the end of the lake. Three kilometres of paved road (1km steep downhill) takes you back into 10km of excellent, but somewhat strenuous, undulating horse trails in the provincial park. Then back along the beach where you get a picturesque view of the lake and nice flat finish coming in.
Aid Stations: 4 total (6km, 14km, 17km, 23km)

Parking: at Main Beach all day.

First Aid: first aid attendants at the start/finish area, and along course.

Spectators: the best viewing area will be at the start / finish area and along the beach. There will be limited access to Station #1 on Parmentor Road (rough logging road). Columbia Valley Hwy can accommodate a limited number of spectators, though please keep clear of traffic and runners. Trail access can be located along the Provincial Park horse trails from Clear Creek Campground with a 15 minute hike.

Awards / Medals:

30km solo: Awards go to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place men and women. Additionally, race prizes we will be given to 1st place winner (male OR female) in each of the following categories; under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

30km relay: First place finishers in the following categories; co-ed team, all male team, all female team.

Relay Infomation:

The relay exchange (14Km mark) is at the Watt Creak parking lot. Leg 1 runners will need to find their own transportation from the exchange back to the finish line.

Package Pick-up: between 07:30 – 08:30am Race day.

Race Day Registration: TBA This is only available if the race has not reached its 150 participant limit by race day. Check our website for updates on entry numbers.

Awards Presentation: Approx. Noon, (Note: course closes at 1:00 pm)

Directions: Hwy #1 exit #104, 10 minutes east of Abbotsford. For the next 20 minutes follow signs for Cultus Lake on #3 Road through Yarrow and Vedder Mtn. Rd. Turn right at light onto Cultus Lake Rd. until Main Beach parking area. Or take exit #119 south on to Vedder rd and follow it to Cultus Lake
