Mt. Washington Yeti This Weekend

The first Yeti snowshoe race of the year takes place this Saturday at Vancouver Island’s Mt. Washington Resort. The event will include three options; a 5km Sport Course, and a 10 Snow Run and new this year, a Winter Duathlon, which will consist of a 10km cross-country ski leg sandwiched between two 5k snowshoe Sport Courses.Conditions on Mt. Washington are good with a base of almost 500 centimeters.

Due to the Olympics only two events are scheduled to take place this year. The other is the Mt. Seymour Yeti which takes place on February 27th and which also will serve as both the World Snowshoe Invitational and Canadian Championships.
