Whistler to Host Brand New Whistler 50 Relay & Ultra Next Weekend

Whistler will host the inaugural Whistler 50 Relay and Ultra next weekend (November 5th). The 50 mile race replaces the Haney-to-Harrison 100K Relay and Ultra which was cancelled after last year due to safety concerns related to traffic and congestion. The new route will alleviate much of these concerns by utilizing the picturesque Whistler Valley Trail System (see course map here)

Runners can compete in the event in one of two ways: as a member of an 8 person relay team, or as a solo runner. Solo runners will have to opportunity to qualify for the Canadian National Team on the certified course.

The event takes place Saturday (November 5, 2011) with the start and finish area at the Whistler Conference Centre. The conference centre will also host the famous after-party later that evening. For a full schedule of event click here.
