Standup4Greatbear Film Screening – 400km of Standup Paddleboarding for the Great Bear Rainforest

Norm Hann, who standup paddleboarded along a proposed north coast BC oil tanker route, will be screening his Standup4Greatbear film at Granville Island’s Ecomarine Kayak in Vancouver on November 25th, 2011 at 7:00PM.

Norm paddled 400 kilometers on his standup paddleboard from Kitimat to Bella Bella to raise awareness of the dangers the proposed oil tanker route would bring to the people and wildlife of the Great Bear Rainforest and Pacific Ocean.

Enbridge’s proposed oil pipeline would transport oil the tar sands of Alberta to the deep water ocean port of Kitimat, B.C. From Kitimat a proposed 225 Very Large Crude Carriers per year would transport over 500000 gallons of oil each through the treacherous waters and rich life of Douglas Channel and the Greatbear Rainforest.

The screening will also include door prizes, giveaways and Granville Island beer. For more information visit www.standup4greatbear.ca.
