July 26-28 – Vancouver Island Fat Tire Festival

Get ready for a fast and fun weekend surrounded by people who love to ride their mountain bikes.  All you have to do is show up, pitch a tent, and leave the rest of the work to us.

The Vancouver Island Fat Tire Festival will be based out of Transfer Beach Park in Ladysmith, located on beautiful Vancouver Island, B.C.  Ladysmith is located in central Vancouver Island on the east coast.  Ladysmith is a quaint yet vibrant community with a beautiful downtown that is only a short walk away from scenic Transfer Beach.  It is a perfect location for accessing some of the best riding that the island, and the province has to offer!

What is included?

The Vancouver Island Fat Tire festival is based around three fantastic days of mountain biking in three different parts of the island. Each area has its own spectacular features! You will experience the wonderfully “flowy” and technically challenging trails of Cumberland; the outstanding views and great climbs of Nanaimo; and the buff, smile inducing trails of the Cowichan Valley.

The outstanding riding is just one part of what we offer. We will take care of all of the other details that will get you to the trailhead and ensure you have a relaxing evening after a long day in the saddle. See below for a list of what is included.

* All of your meals (3 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 2 dinners)
* Camping sites with ocean views (bring your own tent)
* Local craft beer & cider garden
* Transportation to all of the ride locations
* Guided rides
* Showers
* On site mechanical support
* Bike expo
* One of a kind Vancouver Island Fat Tire Festival t-shirt

Who should participate?

The rides will be catering to intermediate and advanced skill levels. Participants will need to be able to ride at least 2-4 hours. The trails are not suitable for beginners as they are the typical rocky, rooty, twisty, turny BC singletrack. We will be splitting into different groups based on pace.
