Cypress and Grouse Mountains are both gearing up for an early start to the ski season. Both mountains will open, with limited hours, this Friday. This is the third earliest opening in 33 years, according to Cypress’ marketing director, Joffrey Koeman. The best news is that tickets on opening day are 40% off!
The Nordic area won’t be opening this week for cross-country skiing, but will be opening shortly after.
Whistler is opening one week ahead of schedule on November 19th, and Blackcomb will open as scheduled on the 26th.
Weather predictions for this winter are for another snowy winter, so get prepared early. Make sure you have snow tires, buy your yaktrax/microspikes early while stocks last (remember most stores ran out last winter), and dust off your snow shoes. Winter’s here!
